Greengold Nursery rebrand

Brief

Greengold Nursery (formerly Greengold Federation Square) has been trading in Canberra since 1994. In today’s environment of large hardware outlets Greengold Nursery would be classed as a boutique nursery, serving a loyal customer base spanning from around the corner to interstate. After twenty plus years of trading using the same brand identity it was time for a refresh and to expand the customer base.

Process

Recognising the equity in the old identity we simplified the logo mark, updated the typography for greater adaptability and usability, and freshened up the colour palette to inject some energy. Our primary focus with this rebranding was to create consistency with all of the business communication, and engage customers in relevant and interesting dialogue. The business owner has extensive industry knowledge and it is one of the strongest assets the business has. We wanted to capitalise on this knowledge and make it freely available to all customers, old and new.

Solution

We developed a suite of print communications (business card, letterhead, forms, flyers, invitations, posters, note pads), along with the first stage of digital communication being an e-newsletter.

Outcome

Through the Greengold Nursery rebrand we successfully:

  • Created consistency in through all brand experiences.
  • Exposed and made freely available one of the business’s biggest assets – industry knowledge.
  • Introduced the business to digital communication with it’s e-newsletter attracting an average monthly subscriber growth in excess of 200%.

Print brand experiences

We have created a suite of business stationary for Greengold Nursery (letterhead, business cards, envelopes, forms and digital templates) for everyday office administration.

To support the continued promotions, members only events, and seasonal sales, we create posters and flyers (that are distributed to the 3000+ membership base). To promote Greengold Nursery’s introduction of an email based newsletter we created Point of Sale signal and information to encourage customers to become subscribers.

We continually work on Greengold Nursery’s digital presence and promote their Facebook page on the majority of print brand experiences.

The next phase of brand experience development will be their CMS based website (using WordPress).

Photography

To compliment the monthly e-newsletter we produce for Greengold Nursery, we undertake monthly on-location photoshoots of the stock that will be highlighted in the next e-newsletter. Over time Greengold Nursery will have a substantial image gallery to support their continued digital and print brand experiences.

We approached Fridge to reinvigorate our retail business as they were highly recommended to us by other business owners.

Kurt and Jo, the principals of Fridge, spent many hours with us to get an understanding of our business and how we wanted to move into the future. Their fresh innovative ideas and calm meticulous nature guided us and injected many new ideas into our new business model.

Fridge developed for us a fresh new logo that is relevant to today, an innovative monthly electronic newsletter and a firm social media presence on Facebook. Their flair for design and photography has enhanced the look of these products and has contributed to a fresh new professional look for our 20 year old business.

We look forward to expanding our digital presence through an interactive website in the near future under the guidance of Fridge.
